Brother Blue Sewing Machine Mat...

So, I wanted the mat for my machine. Yes, because I had not bought enough things for my Brother PS500. HAHA. Well, this is the "small" version, and it just made it under the machine plus extension table so that I could still have the table on. VERY happy with this. And of course I bought a foot as well. The clear 1/4" foot. It is actually a Babylock foot but of course fits beautifully. Looks just like the generic one except it *IS* thicker. I have to say that. Probably harder to crack and break it. I might find out because forgetting to set a straight stitch is all that takes.  The mat is 17"x23".  The PS500 is rather a long machine at about 19" with its own white extension table, and I have the extra extension table on instead of the machines extension-table/bed, as you can see.  I recommend Pocono Sew and Vac!

The little blue box on the extension table is my 32 piece generic foot set. The box is from a little first aid kit sold at the Dollar Store nearest me. I saw the potential in these little compartmentalized boxes a few years ago!

Patty's Summer Set Do-Over...

Here is the do-over on the little outfit! I wanted slimmer pants and either a dress or a short top and the short top won out!

The cat approves too.  Little Patty is glad for having clothes again. she was wrapped in a piece of fabric that made not so good a wrap.

Bloomer Buddies in Purple Print...

I just love this Oh Sew Kat Bloomer Buddies pattern for 14" dolls!  I made this outfit, and I have to say I do not love this outfit as much as my last little dress I made from this pattern. It will probably get shorn of the little capris and I will add something to the top to make it just long enough to be a dress. I think it might be the fabric. Not my favorite. But I do love making up the pattern! Also, on the dolls with the cloth bodies...that cloth at the neck just shows too much for me. The all vinyl or vinyl upper torso dolls look so much nicer. :)  Must make something for the Kindred Hearts dolls I have that has lace standing at the neck or something! HAHAHAH...or clothes that match the body color!

Making a Summer Comfy Shorts Pattern...

So, here the thing was that I had wanted to make a pants pattern from my jeans shorts for a long time. I had cut off my elastic waist Jeans (with a bit of spandex) to make these shorts a long time ago and even though they are venerable and loved, and I will still wear them, they really cannot be worn out in public at this point. I need to make some Summer Shorts. I downloaded the So Sew Easy pattern and wanted to compare it to a pattern drafted out by me from my trusty shorts. Today was the day. Here is the comparison of each piece with the inner seam laid over the So Sew Easy pattern. I can see the So Sew Easy wouldn't be large enough for me, so I am going to use my own pattern. The differences are interesting as well.  I do know that the pair I used to copy fits me and so do lots of other RTW jeans from the same company at the same time.  Here is the back! My tissue is over the So Sew Easy.

Here is the front piece again my tissue over the So Sew Easy.

So it seems my own pattern will be the better fit for sure. It was a fun exercise in comparing the inner seaming though...:)  I may add a little fare to the sides because I want comfy roomy longish shorts for comfort and to ease the burden when bending over in the yard and garden. :)  might even want to make a bucket hat to match...hhhmmm.....
